
Stanley W. Borusiewicz Jr., was elected to a four-year term on the VFW’s National Council of Administration on Aug. 13, 2025, at the 126th VFW National Convention in Columbus, Ohio, representing the Department of Connecticut.
Stanley served in the United States Marine Corps from 1976 to 1980, earning his VFW eligibility serving in Korea. In recognition of his service, he received the Korean Service Ribbon, the Good Conduct Medal, and several Letters of Accommodation.
Stanley joined the VFW in 1996 at Post 1946 in Naugatuck, Connecticut, later transferring to Post 201 in Waterbury, Connecticut, where he maintains his Gold Legacy Life membership. He has served in elected and appointed positions at the Post, District and Department levels, culminating with his election as the VFW Department of Connecticut Commander twice, from 2006 to 2007 and from 2024 to 2025, in which he earned the distinction of Triple Crown All-American status. On the national level, he has served as Vice Chairman on the Youth Education and Community Service Committee, Chairman on the National Legislative Committee, as National Aide-de-Camp, and has served on several committees, including the General Resolutions Committee, the National Programs Committee, and the Finance and Internal Organization Committee. This is his second time serving on the National Council of Administration.
Stanley completed courses at the Rhode Island Trade Shop School in 1981, receiving his ICAR certification for automotive painting. He is a partner with Avenue Autobody LLC.
He is a life member of the Military Order of the Cootie, VFW National Home, Marine Corps League, and AMVETS. He is also a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks 967, and a past chairman of the Naugatuck Veterans Council.
Stanley resides in Naugatuck, Connecticut.
