Ribbon Cutting and Re-dedication Ceremony with Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman for the Jr. Vice Commander-in-Chief Mel, Ruth, Ann ,Stan , Jim and Skip, 9/23/2018 award ceremony at the Chrystal room Honoring Stan as Veteran of the year, put on by post 1964 Naugatuck Honored to join VFW State Commander Jim Delancy in presenting an award for service to Colonel James Ridley and the Connecticut Civil Air Patrol and Air Force Cadet programs. Here are some photos Dave Greene took of the $10,000 Check our State Commander presented to the Coast Guard this morning. It will play on WTNH Channel 8 on the evening news. Some good PR we hope. BTW: They said that they had to go on a training exercise this weekend, and normally would get a food stipend, not gonna happen from the government, so our money will cover that. The rest of the money will go into a relief/unmet needs fund if
anyone gets stuck paying rent, mortgage, food, gas for car etc.

The Dist. One picnic was another huge success. You cannot possibly eat all the food they provide. Kim and her entire crew do a super job. If you missed this one, be there next year. An attached picture of State Commander Jim Delancy lobbing a “Cool Whip Pie” into the face of State Judge Advocate Bob Bailey. (Nice shot Cmdr) Our State Sr. Vice Commander Ken Hartline also took a few in the face to help the cause. Great Food, Fun and Music. Jr. Vice Commander-in-Chief A little windy and chilly but that didn't dampen the spirit of the almost 60 golfers that played in the Patriot's Golf Tournament at Chipanee Country Club in Bristol yesterday. We added over 20 golfers this year, and everyone had a great time. It can only get larger next year,. and it should get larger next year. This tournament helps fund the programs we provide for our Veterans and deployed troops. It also allowed us to send
$5,000.00 as mentioned before to the VFW national Disaster Relief Fund to help Veterans and VFW's in the affected by hurricane Florence.
The Officer and member training at Rocky Hill on Saturday was extremely informative. Not a huge crowed, and not all stayed for the group picture, but those that attenged learned a lot in the almost 3 hour session. Past Commander-in-Chief Biedrzycki did a great job and the Q&A session covered a number of topics. There will be another one at the beginning of the next VFW Administrative year hopefully in August sometimes to get everyone ion
the right foot with the new program details.
