CORRESPONDENCE: Partner with Us to Host a 2026 Veterans Legislative Listening Session

Hi Vet Serving Leaders-

I hope you’re doing well. As we prepare for the 2026 legislative session, my colleagues—Senator Paul Honig, Representative Delaney—and I are organizing a series of Veterans Legislative Listening Sessions to hear directly from veterans and veteran-serving organizations about the priorities that matter most.

I will be hosting 5–8 sessions in Eastern Connecticut, with Senator Honig (NW and Central CT) and Representative Delaney (Fairfield County) covering the rest of the state. These forums will:

  • Gather input on the most pressing needs for Connecticut’s veterans.
  • Share a summary of legislation passed this year and its local impact.
  • Discuss the implications of recent federal policy changes.

I’m reaching out to ask if your organization would consider co-hosting or co-inviting participants to one of these sessions.
We’re especially hoping to partner with veteran groups that can:

  • Bring together members from multiple local posts, chapters, or service areas.
  • Identify high-attendance locations where veterans already gather.
  • Encourage strong participation by inviting surrounding veteran organizations.

If you’re interested, please reply with:

  1. Your availability for a short planning call.
  1. Possible dates and locations for a session (or existing meetings we could integrate into).
  1. Any co-host organizations you recommend.

Your insight and network will be invaluable in ensuring these listening sessions reflect the voices of veterans from across our region. I hope you’ll join us in shaping a legislative agenda that truly meets their needs.

Thank you for your leadership and commitment to Connecticut’s veterans.

With respect and gratitude for your work,
Jaime S. Foster
