Brian Willette

National Sergeant-at-Arms, Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States

Brian Willette was appointed National Sergeant-at-Arms of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the U.S. on Aug. 13, 2025, at the 126th VFW National Convention in Columbus, Ohio.

Brian served in the United States Army, earning his VFW eligibility by serving in Bosnia in support of Operation Joint Forge, and in Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. In recognition of his service, Brian received the Purple Heart and the Combat Action Badge.

He is a Gold Legacy Life member of Post 3104 in South Hadley, Massachusetts; a five-time All-American Post Commander, past All-American District Commander, past Department Judge Advocate, and he currently serves as the Department of Massachusetts Sergeant-at-Arms.

On the national level, Brian has served on the Sergeant-atArms team since 2016 and has served as the National Sergeant-at-Arms since 2021. He has been a member of the Honor Guard team since 2019. He also served on the Veterans and Military Support Committee and as a National Assistant Inspector General. He is a life member of the VFW National Home for Children.

Brian is a member of the American Legion, Sons of the American Legion, DAV, AMVETS, Marine Corps League (associate member), Association of 3D Armored Division Veterans, Yankee Division Veterans Association, 29th Division Veterans Association, and serves as the National POW-MIA officer for the Military Order of the Purple Heart of the U.S.A.
