 When: Saturday, September 9, 2017Time: 10 - 12 noon

Where:  Newington Campus, VA-CT

 September is suicide awareness mo nt h. Suicide is, as we know, is a problem for our veterans and their families not only in September, but all year long. What can we do to help prevent it?

 The VA hasdeveloped an emergency mental health gatekeeper training intervention program for lay and professional gatekeepers to recognize and respond positively to someone exhibiting suicide warning signsand behaviors.

 Come and learn about "QPR". It's for mental health emergencies like "CPR" is for physical health emergencies.

 We have arranged for Latonya Ha rts, LCSW, Suicide Prevention Coordinator at VA-CT to share with us the training program for military suicide preventio n.F ollowing herpresentation, shewill invite questions and encourage discus sion. There will also be materials for you touse at your post and auxiliary meetings.

 Voluntary Service will provide coffee "and". Parking at the Newington Campus on Saturday is usually easy.
